Driving Tactics

The following driving tactics have been identified as frequently contributing to law enforcement collisions.

1. Over 50% of all non-emergency law enforcement collisions occur while the cruiser is in reverse gear.

2. Entering and exiting parked positions.

3. Turnabouts and turns on occupied highways.

4. Driving too fast for conditions.

5. Following other vehicles too closely.
