Detail Questions

Detail questions ask you to identify a specific piece of information from the passage. Detail questions often contain one of the following phrases :

According to the passage... or According to the quotation... The passage states...

The correct answer to a detail question is either a direct quote or a paraphrase of information in the passage. Any answer stating information that does not appear in the passage, cannot be the correct answer. Your answer must address the question that is being asked.
